Gabi goes home to care for her father to a town that hasn't always been forgiving of her father's eccentric behavior. While there she comes into contact with her high school crush Tucker.

Tucker spends his days as a ranger in the Florida Glades. Being a ranger helps him keep secrets he's been hiding for years. One that he's a panther shifter and two the his brother is cursed and has to be protected from the world. When he meets Gabi again he knows immediately she's his mate, but how can he ever take the time to mate her with all the secrets he carries on his shoulders.

When Gabi's father's hobby of searching for Glades for the illusive Big Foot gets him into more trouble they anyone ever thought, can Gabi with Tucker's help save him?

Quick read that begins a four book paranormal series. The first book is a good introduction into the series where you meet several of the continuing characters. Tucker is a very likable hero who is just working to do the right thing for everyone. Gabi is stubborn and set to help where ever she can, sometimes without thinking through the consequences.

Well written series. Looking forward to reading the rest of this series. This first book is free on Amazon.

Description:
Whispered secrets drag the past out of the swamp and lead Gabi to the last place on Earth she ever expected to be, thrust into the arms of a man she never expected to get...

Gabrielle Fairway has long dealt with the snickering, whispered rumors and taunting thanks to her father’s obsession with bigfoot. Now that dad’s getting on in years, his daughters think it may be time to admit the elderly biologist to a nursing home. Lucky Gabi gets to go down and break the news to him, which brings her clawing her way back to her hometown of Sunset Glade.

Tucker Auric has been hiding not one, but two secrets — his and his brother’s. It’s hard enough being a panther shifter without a pack, but protecting his sasquatch sibling from the prying eyes of paranormal hunters is running him ragged. One look at Gabi has Tucker realizing that he needs someone like her in his life… and his bed.

An attack in the swamp thrusts bookish Gabi and her long-time crush together as they work to solve the mystery of the murderous shifter. When the evildoer turns their attention to Gabi and Tucker, they’ll have to decide where their loyalties lie or risk losing the love they’ve only just discovered...

Zoe decides it is time to take control of her life and make some changes. Moving from her home town, on her way to her new home she stops to camp in the mountains and meets a handsome ranger. When trouble finds her, it is the handsome ranger that comes to her aid, but there is more to the ranger than meets the eye.

Damien and his crew stand between people and the Shadowland creatures. When he is out on patrol, Damien meets Zoe and immediately his bear realizes that Zoe is his mate, but Damien doesn't think that having a mate is for him. He is dedicated to his job and as alpha of his crew he feels he should have no distractions.

As the two spend more time together and become closer, but danger is just around the corner and Damien wants nothing but to protect Zoe. Is the best way to protect her to send her away from the forest and Shadowland dwellers?

Good story, but the book does have several type-os that might in the way for some readers.

Description:
Zoe Fox is leaving her past life forever. Tired of the lousy workplace and even lousier love life, she’s ready to start over out west. But when her sudden decision to visit a National Park makes her take the wrong turn, she finds herself chased by a ferocious monster. Luckily, a big, sexy-as-hell, muscle bound ranger appears out of nowhere to save her. Taking her to his cabin while she heals, she might learn that loving a shifter could be more dangerous than any monster she could find.

Damien Black knows only duty. He’s devoted to lead the White Paw bears against the Shadowlands, an unnatural threat that could leech the life out of the world. But when the beautiful, fragile human, Zoe Fox is chased by a shadow wildcat, his protective instincts flare up like never before.

Even worse, although being with Zoe makes him stronger than ever, his shifter senses are starting to fail him. That should be reason enough to make her go away. But why can’t he? And why is his bear roaring inside, calling her his mate?

This standalone novel has a HEA and absolutely NO cheating and NO cliffhangers.

Danger shouldn’t be this sexy . . .
Cougar shifter Abby Carter always plays it safe. That’s why she’s an accountant—no excitement, no danger, and no cocky alpha males. She loves her quiet life, but fate has other plans. When Abby uncovers the shady dealings of an anti-shifter organization, she’ll have to trust the too-sexy-for-her-peace-of-mind werewolf

Declan Reed . . . or end up six feet under.
Declan Reed is starting over. After two years with Shifter Operations Command, it’s time to put his past behind him. Now Declan is the only thing standing between the gorgeous Abby and an early grave, and if he’s going to have any chance of keeping her alive, he’ll have to embrace the darkness he’s fought to keep at bay. But first he has to convince Abby that there’s no safer place in the world than the arms of a big bad werewolf.

I'm a big fan of Celia Kyle. She has a fantastic ability to make you laugh out loud while you're reading. Many of her stories are quick reads. "Wolf's Mate" is a little different from her previous books. This one is a little more serious in nature and a little longer than some of her others.

In Wolf's Mate the two lead characters are a little more complicated. The hero, Declan, knows that he isn't a good person and can't possibly be good enough for innocent Abby.

Abby witnessed her parents being killed by a group that kills shifters when she was a child. When she grew up she decides to live a quiet life as an accountant. Two couldn't be more different.

I also think she spent a little more time world building on her subject, which leaves the reader a chance to get into the characters and the story behind the characters relationship.

This is a continual series, although you could stop with just this one story, but you'll be looking forward to reading more in the end.
